The short answer
What should you never walk past at Goodwill if you resell on eBay?
Eleven finds with strong eBay sold prices in October 2026: Staub Dutch ovens, Polaroid SX-70s, Vitamix 5200s, Toshiba DVR620 DVD/VCR combos, vintage Burberry trenches, Arc'teryx Beta and Atom jackets, Red Wing Heritage boots, Nintendo 3DS XLs, Polo Bear sweaters, Bose Wave systems and Breville Barista Express machines. Most used Barista Expresses sold for $300-$375; tested Toshiba combos for $90-$210. Test before you buy.
- Most used Breville Barista Express machines sold for $300-$375 on eBay (6 of 8 used sales, Oct 26-30, 2026), the highest typical used sale on the list.
- Testing changes the price: tested, working Toshiba DVD/VCR combos sold for $90-$210, while untested or for-parts ones sold for $30-$69 (Oct 12-29, 2026).
- Check that the parts are there: a Vitamix motor base with no jar sells for a lot less than a complete 5200 ($115-$180 used).
- Most used Polo Bear sweaters sold for $86-$300 (32 of 49 sales, Oct 10-30, 2026); a $419.99 vintage ski bear was one sale, not a typical price.
- Look up sold prices with eBay's Sold filter, not asking prices, and go by several sales, not one.
Chapters (14)
These are 11 things worth picking up if you spot one at Goodwill or any thrift store, each with what it really sold for on eBay in October 2026, how to spot it fast and where I'd look for it. Every price here comes from real eBay sold listings (US sellers, Sold filter) with the sale date. When it's only one sale, I say so.
They aren't in strict price order, but number one is the one that sells for the most, used.
Which thrift store finds sell for the most on eBay?
Here's the whole list. "Most sold for" is the range most used sales landed in, with how many sales that covers. "Sold for" is one real sale you can match to a date.
| # | Item | Most sold for | Sales behind the range | One real sale | What to look for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 11 | Staub Dutch oven (4 qt+) | $102-$150 | 8 of 12 used, Oct 15-30, 2026 | $250, used 6 qt, Oct 15 | Little spikes under the lid, metal knob |
| 10 | Polaroid SX-70 | $70-$200 | 35 of 41, Oct 25-29, 2026 | $229.99, used, tested, Oct 28 | Folds flat into a slab of chrome and leather |
| 9 | Vitamix 5200 (complete) | $115-$180 | 6 used complete, Oct 18-30, 2026 | $179.99, used, tested, Oct 30 | Tall 64 oz jar, dial 1-10, two switches |
| 8 | Toshiba DVD/VCR combo with HDMI (DVR620) | $90-$210 tested working | about 49 of 58, Oct 12-29, 2026 | $205, used with box, Oct 28 | Tape slot plus disc tray, DVR620 model |
| 7 | Vintage Burberry trench | $100-$250 | 14 of 17 used, Oct 22-30, 2026 | $399.99, used, wool liner, Oct 25 | Check lining, "Burberrys" label |
| 6 | Arc'teryx Beta or Atom jacket | $115-$285 | 25 of 30 used, Oct 11-30, 2026 | $285, used Atom LT hoody, Oct 30 | Fossil-bird logo, Beta or Atom on the tag |
| 5 | Red Wing Heritage boots | $100-$225 | 9 of 13 used, Oct 21-30, 2026 | $225, used Iron Ranger, Oct 28 | Toe cap and speed hooks, or the stitched moc toe |
| 4 | Nintendo 3DS XL | $150-$225 | 8 of 8 used working, Oct 28-30, 2026 | $170, used red 2012 model, Oct 30 | The big 3DS that folds, two screens |
| 3 | Polo Bear sweater | $86-$300 | 32 of 49 used, Oct 10-30, 2026 | $275, used lighthouse XL, Oct 27 | Bear knit into the front, Polo Ralph Lauren tag |
| 2 | Bose Wave Music System | $150-$300 | 8 of 11 used, Oct 29-30, 2026 | $175, used, Oct 29 | Compact radio and CD player, curved front |
| 1 | Breville Barista Express | $300-$375 | 6 of 8 used, Oct 26-30, 2026 | $374.99, used, Oct 29 | Bean hopper, pressure gauge, built-in grinder |
Not everything on the list clears $100 every time. Untested SX-70s, untested Toshibas, some Polo Bears and worn Red Wing Moc Toes can sell under it, so read each section for what moves the price.
11. How much is a used Staub Dutch oven worth?
Most used Staub cocottes, 4 quarts and up, sold for about $102 to $150 on eBay (8 of 12 used sales, Oct 15-30, 2026). Staub is the French enameled cast iron that started in Alsace in 1974, and it's easy to mix up with Le Creuset.
Here's the tell: flip the lid. Staub has little spikes on the underside, a metal knob on top, and the inside of the pot is usually matte black. The name is on the lid.

Bigger and odder pieces go higher. A big 6-quart sold for $250 (eBay, sold Oct 15, 2026, used), and a green cocotte shaped like a hen went for $375 (eBay, sold Oct 21, 2026, used). That's one sale, not a typical price.
The catch: not many of these sell, only about a dozen in the three weeks I checked. Price it right and be patient. Where I'd look: down low on the cookware shelf, with the heavy pots.
10. What does a Polaroid SX-70 sell for?
Most used Polaroid SX-70s sold for about $70 to $200, 35 of 41 sales between Oct 25 and Oct 29, 2026, and the middle was around $125. Polaroid brought it out in 1972. It's the camera that folds flat, and the classic one is chrome with brown leather. Folded up, it's a slim slab of leather and chrome, which makes it easy to miss.
Testing is what moves the price. A tested one with a case, film and a flash sold for $229.99 (eBay, sold Oct 28, 2026, used). One that was tested and converted to take 600 film sold for $320 (eBay, sold Oct 26, 2026, used). That's one sale. Untested ones sit at the low end, so if you can test it, do.
Where I'd look: the electronics shelf, or the glass case up front.
9. How much is a used Vitamix 5200 worth?
Most used, complete Vitamix 5200 blenders sold for about $115 to $180 (6 used complete sales, Oct 18-30, 2026). A black one, tested, sold for $179.99 (eBay, sold Oct 30, 2026, used).
To spot one, look for the tall 64-ounce jar, a big speed dial numbered 1 to 10, and two flip switches. Vitamix says the model name is either on the front of the base or on a label underneath.
The catch: a motor base by itself, with no jar, sells for a lot less. The jar matters. Plug it in if your store has a testing outlet. Where I'd look: the small appliance shelf.
Once you've found one, EasyFlip writes the eBay listing from a few photos: title, description, item specifics, category and a suggested price.
8. How much is a Toshiba DVD/VCR combo with HDMI worth?
Most tested, working ones sold for about $90 to $210 on eBay (about 49 of 58 sales, Oct 12-29, 2026). It's a VCR and a DVD recorder in one, so it can copy tapes to DVD, and it has an HDMI port for a modern TV. It's mostly the Toshiba DVR620, and it looks like any old black box with a tape slot and a disc tray. Check the model number on the unit before you buy.

The one with its box sold for $205 (eBay, sold Oct 28, 2026, used). One with the remote sold for $189.95 (eBay, sold Oct 29, 2026, used). There were about 58 sales in two and a half weeks.
Testing is the whole game here:
| Condition | eBay sold range (US, Oct 12-29, 2026) |
|---|---|
| Untested or for parts | $30-$69 |
| Tested and working | $90-$210 |

So put a tape in, put a disc in, and check for the remote. Where I'd look: the electronics section, with the plain DVD players.
7. How do you spot a vintage Burberry trench coat?
Open it up first: the giveaway is the lining, the beige, black, red and white check. Then read the label. Older ones say "Burberrys", with an S, which the company dropped in the late nineties, and some say Made in England. Most used vintage trenches sold for about $100 to $250 (14 of 17 used sales, Oct 22-30, 2026).

A long tan one with a wool liner went for $399.99 (eBay, sold Oct 25, 2026, used). A belted men's 46R sold at auction for $107.50 (eBay, sold Oct 26, 2026, used, 2 bids).
There are fakes out there. A label alone doesn't prove anything, so if the stitching or the label looks off, leave it. Some of these sales carried eBay's Authenticity Guarantee badge. Where I'd look: the coat rack, and check men's and women's both.
6. What do used Arc'teryx jackets sell for?
Most used Arc'teryx Beta and Atom jackets sold for about $115 to $285 (25 of 30 used sales, Oct 11-30, 2026). The two names you want on the tag are Beta, the rain shell, and Atom, the light puffy one.
An Atom LT hoody sold for $285 (eBay, sold Oct 30, 2026, used) and a Beta shell went for $250 (eBay, sold Oct 27, 2026, used).
The logo is a little fossil of the Archaeopteryx, the early bird, often on the chest. Arc'teryx has its own page on spotting counterfeits: the logo should be tidy and tightly stitched, and the name should be spelled right, apostrophe and all. Where I'd look: the outerwear rack, mixed in with the regular rain jackets.
5. How much are used Red Wing Heritage boots worth?
Most used pairs sold for about $100 to $225 (9 of 13 used sales, Oct 21-30, 2026), and the Iron Ranger sold for the most: $165 to $225 used. It has an extra layer of leather over the toe and speed hooks up top. The other one to know is the Moc Toe, with the stitched U across the front and a light-colored wedge sole.
An Iron Ranger sold for $225 (eBay, sold Oct 28, 2026, used) and a brown pair for $165 the same day.
Condition matters a lot here. Worn Moc Toes can sell under $100: one went for $74.99 (eBay, sold Oct 30, 2026, used). Where I'd look: the shoe aisle, on the men's boot shelf.
4. How much is a Nintendo 3DS XL worth?
Every working standard 3DS XL in the sales I counted sold for about $150 to $225 (8 of 8 used working consoles, Oct 28-30, 2026). It's the big version of the 3DS, the one that folds open with two screens, and it came out in North America in 2012.
A red 2012 model sold for $170 (eBay, sold Oct 30, 2026, used). A limited edition Zelda one went for $257.01 with 33 bids (eBay, sold Oct 29, 2026, used). That's one sale.
Don't mix it up with the original 2DS, the flat one that doesn't fold, or the later New 3DS XL, which is a different model. Where I'd look: the electronics case, or the toys and games shelf.
3. How much is a Polo Bear sweater worth?
Most used Polo Bear sweaters sold for about $86 to $300 (32 of 49 used sales, Oct 10-30, 2026), with the middle around $190. The Polo Bear is from Polo Ralph Lauren. The bear first showed up in 1991, and on the sweaters it's knit right into the front, usually dressed in its own little outfit.

The lighthouse one, an XL, sold for $275 (eBay, sold Oct 27, 2026, used). A vintage red ski bear went for $419.99 (eBay, sold Oct 22, 2026, used). That's one sale.
Where I'd look: the sweater rack. Check men's and women's.
2. What does a used Bose Wave Music System sell for?
Most used ones sold for about $150 to $300, 8 of the 11 sales I checked from Oct 29-30, 2026. It's the compact radio and CD player with the curved front.
A plain one sold for $175 (eBay, sold Oct 29, 2026, used), and the low one went for $109.99 (eBay, sold Oct 30, 2026, used). One with the add-on multi-CD changer, tested, sold for $399.99 (eBay, sold Oct 30, 2026, used). That's one sale, and the changer is an add-on, so don't expect it with every unit.
Before you buy, put a CD in and turn on the radio. Where I'd look: the electronics section, next to the clock radios.
1. How much is a used Breville Barista Express worth?
Most used Breville Barista Express espresso machines sold for about $300 to $375, 6 of the 8 sales I checked from Oct 26-30, 2026. It's brushed steel, with a bean hopper on top, a pressure gauge on the front and a grinder built right in. The model is the BES870.
One sold for $374.99 (eBay, sold Oct 29, 2026, used). A brushed stainless one sold for $410 (eBay, sold Oct 26, 2026, used). That's one sale. The low one was $220 (eBay, sold Oct 28, 2026, used).
Check that the portafilter, the handle that holds the coffee, comes with it. Where I'd look: small appliances, with the coffee makers.
How do you check what something sold for on eBay?
Search the item on eBay, then turn on the Sold filter. That shows what buyers actually paid, not what sellers are asking. Do it before you buy anything to resell.

Use several sales, not one. A single high sale, like the $375 Staub hen or the $419.99 ski bear, tells you what's possible, not what to expect. And match condition: tested, complete and boxed items sit at the top of every range above. If you want more on how Goodwill itself works, I put together 12 Goodwill secrets on tag colors and senior days, and there's a list of thrift store brands resellers overlook.
The bottom line
Here's the list by where it sits in the store. In the kitchen: Staub, Vitamix and the Breville. In electronics: the SX-70, the Toshiba combo, the 3DS XL and the Bose. On the racks: Burberry, Arc'teryx, the Polo Bear and the Red Wings.
This week, test anything with a plug or a battery before you pay, check that the parts are there (the Vitamix jar, the Breville portafilter, the Toshiba remote), and look up the sold price on your phone before it goes in the cart.

Most tested, working Toshiba DVD/VCR combos with HDMI, mostly the DVR620, sold for about $90-$210 on eBay between Oct 12 and 29, 2026. Untested or for-parts units sold for $30-$69, so test it with a tape and a disc and check for the remote.

This DVD and VCR combo, a plain black box you could walk right past, sold on eBay on October twenty-eighth for two hundred and five dollars. Used. A sweater with a little teddy bear on the front sold for two hundred seventy-five. And number one is a kitchen machine where most used ones sold for about three hundred to three seventy-five. So today: eleven things that, if you ever spot one at Goodwill or any thrift store, you should never walk past. For every one: what it really sold for on eBay, how to spot it fast, and where I'd look for it in the store. Let's jump right into it.
Quick note on how this works. They're not in strict price order, but number one is the one that sells for the most, used. And every price you'll see comes from real eBay sold listings, with the dates they sold. When it's just one sale, I'll say so. Number eleven: a Staub Dutch oven. Staub is the French enameled cast iron that started in Alsace in nineteen seventy-four, and it's easy to mix up with Le Creuset. Here's the tell. Flip the lid. Staub has little spikes on the underside, a metal knob on top, and the inside of the pot is usually matte black. On eBay, most used ones, four quarts and up, sold for about a hundred and two to a hundred and fifty dollars. A big six-quart sold for two-fifty, and a green one shaped like a hen went for three seventy-five. That's one sale. Not many of these sell, only about a dozen in the three weeks I checked, so price it right and be patient. Where I'd look: down low on the cookware shelf, with the heavy pots. Number ten: a Polaroid SX-70. This is the camera that folds flat. Polaroid brought it out in nineteen seventy-two, and the classic one is chrome with brown leather. Folded up, it's just a slim, flat slab of leather and chrome. Easy to miss. Most used ones sold for about seventy to two hundred dollars, thirty-five of forty-one sales in five days, and the middle was around a hundred twenty-five. A tested one, with a case, film and a flash, sold for two twenty-nine ninety-nine. And one that was tested and converted to take six-hundred film sold for three-twenty. That's one sale. Untested ones sit at the low end, so if you can test it, do. Where I'd look: the electronics shelf, or the glass case up front.
Quick thing before we keep going. If you've got a pile of stuff waiting to be listed, that's exactly why I built EasyFlip. Snap a few photos and it writes the whole eBay listing for you: title, description, item specifics, the category, even a price. You check it, tap publish, done. Link's down below.
Number nine: a Vitamix fifty-two hundred blender. Look for the tall sixty-four ounce jar, a big speed dial numbered one to ten, and two flip switches. Vitamix says the model name is either on the front of the base, or on a label underneath. Most used complete ones sold for about a hundred fifteen to a hundred eighty dollars. A black one, tested, sold for one seventy-nine ninety-nine on October thirtieth. But here's the catch. A motor base by itself, with no jar, sells for a lot less. So the jar matters. Plug it in if your store has a testing outlet. Where I'd look: the small appliance shelf. Number eight: that Toshiba DVD and VCR combo from the start. Mostly it's the DVR six-twenty. It looks like any old black box with a tape slot and a disc tray, but it's a VCR and a DVD recorder in one, so it can copy tapes to DVD, and it has an HDMI port for a modern TV. Check the model number on the unit before you buy. Most tested, working ones sold for about ninety to two hundred ten dollars, and there were about fifty-eight sales in two and a half weeks. The one with its box was two-oh-five. With the remote, one eighty-nine ninety-five. Untested, or for parts? Thirty to sixty-nine. So put a tape in, put a disc in, and check for the remote. Where I'd look: the electronics section, with the plain DVD players. Number seven: a vintage Burberry trench coat. Open it up first. The giveaway is the lining, that beige, black, red and white check. Then the label. Older ones say Burberrys, with an S, which the company dropped in the late nineties. And some say Made in England. Most used vintage trenches sold for about a hundred to two hundred fifty dollars. A long tan one with a wool liner went for three ninety-nine ninety-nine. There are fakes out there, so if the stitching or the label looks off, leave it. Some of these sales carried eBay's Authenticity Guarantee badge, like this one. Where I'd look: the coat rack. Check men's and women's both.
Number six: an Arc'teryx jacket. The logo is a little fossil of the Archaeopteryx, the early bird, often on the chest. The two names you want on the tag are Beta, the rain shell, and Atom, the light puffy one. Most used Betas and Atoms sold for about a hundred fifteen to two eighty-five. An Atom hoody sold for two eighty-five on October thirtieth, and a Beta shell went for two-fifty. Arc'teryx has its own page on spotting fakes. The logo should be tidy and tightly stitched, and the name should be spelled right, apostrophe and all. Where I'd look: the outerwear rack, mixed in with the regular rain jackets. Number five: Red Wing Heritage boots. The one that sold for the most is the Iron Ranger. It has an extra layer of leather over the toe and speed hooks up top. The other one is the Moc Toe, with the stitched U across the front and a light-colored wedge sole. Most used pairs sold for about a hundred to two twenty-five. Iron Rangers went for one sixty-five to two twenty-five. But worn Moc Toes can sell under a hundred. One went for seventy-four ninety-nine. So condition matters a lot here. Where I'd look: the shoe aisle, on the men's boot shelf. Number four: a Nintendo 3DS XL. It's the big version of the 3DS, the one that folds open with two screens, and it came out in twenty twelve. Every working standard one I counted in those three days sold for about a hundred fifty to two twenty-five. A red one sold for one seventy. A limited edition Zelda one went for two fifty-seven, with thirty-three bids. That's one sale. Don't mix it up with the original 2DS, the flat one that doesn't fold, or the later New 3DS XL. That's a different model. Where I'd look: the electronics case, or the toys and games shelf.
Number three: that teddy bear sweater from the start. It's the Polo Bear, from Polo Ralph Lauren. The bear first showed up in nineteen ninety-one, and on the sweaters it's knit right into the front, usually dressed in its own little outfit. Most used ones sold for about eighty-six to three hundred dollars, thirty-two of forty-nine sales, and the middle was about one ninety. The lighthouse one, an XL, sold for two seventy-five. A vintage red ski bear went for four nineteen ninety-nine. That's one sale. Where I'd look: the sweater rack. Check men's and women's. Number two: a Bose Wave Music System. It's that compact radio and CD player with the curved front. Most used ones sold for about a hundred fifty to three hundred dollars, eight of the eleven recent sales I checked. A plain one went for one oh nine ninety-nine. One with the add-on multi-CD changer, tested, sold for three ninety-nine ninety-nine. That's one sale. Before you buy, put a CD in and turn on the radio. Where I'd look: the electronics section, next to the clock radios. And number one: the kitchen machine from the start. A Breville Barista Express espresso machine. Brushed steel, a bean hopper on top, a pressure gauge on the front, and a grinder built right in. The model is the B-E-S eight-seventy. Most used ones sold for about three hundred to three seventy-five, six of the eight recent sales I checked. A brushed stainless one sold for four hundred ten dollars on October twenty-sixth. That's one sale. The low one was two-twenty. Check that the portafilter, the handle that holds the coffee, comes with it. Where I'd look: small appliances, with the coffee makers.
So, the recap. In the kitchen: Staub, Vitamix and the Breville. In electronics: the SX-70, the Toshiba combo, the 3DS XL and the Bose. On the racks: Burberry, Arc'teryx, the Polo Bear and the Red Wings. And before you buy anything to resell, look up what it actually sold for, with eBay's Sold filter, not what people are asking. So here's my question: which of these eleven have you actually pulled off a thrift store shelf, and what did you pay for it? Tell me in the comments. And if this one was useful, a like helps more resellers see it. Have a blessed day.
